Mentee-Mentor relationship
For the Soho Mentorship Program we're matching young, ambitious creatives with experienced professionals, who are members at Soho House.
Mentees will be able to receive insights from their mentor about the Creative Industry, advice within their area of focus, build their network of professional connections, develop their portfolio and/or acquire skills to navigate the industry.
Mentors will equally gain insights from the young talents around new perspectives, approaches and beliefs; growing their understanding of barriers and access of talent from less privileged backgrounds; and develop their listening and coaching skills
Separately, we’ll onboard the group of mentees and mentors for their journey ahead. Mentees talk about personal goals and growth mindsets. Mentors receive an introduction to coaching and mentorship best practice taught by a professional expert in the
All mentees & mentors to kick off the programme together. During this event we will guide each pair to set up their way of collaboration with one another including goal setting as well as how, where and when they want to communicate. Together we'll form a community with the cohort.
We recommend bi-weekly check ins, these can be in person or online. These maybe the only interaction, or (in accordance with the plan made at the launch event) the check ins could be more or less frequent; perhaps a simple email at a key moment, a call before an interview, a coffee walk in the sun or an invite to an event.
This project forms a community of like minded trailblazers - young talent and role models inside the Soho House network. The Half-way inspiration event, is to share stories, offer tips and advice on how to continue making the most of the program and keep the momentum going.
This program is about exposing these high potential talents to opportunities and to strengthen their potential to succeed. We hope to open doors and offer platforms, including a moment for work experience. Therefore we encourage mentors to invite mentees for a day of shadowing at their own company or introduce them to someone within their network.
The mentees will work together to create a showcase event, to share the story of their progress, celebrate the achievements, developments and present their skills. This will be a wrap-up moment launching the mentees into their next steps within the industry-with an invite to the wider Soho House Community to join and celebrate.
